A fresh anonymous session accepted Sofia tariff 927 into the cart and returned its $6 monthly price, Sofia datacenter, active operating-system choices and resources; no purchase or service-creation request was made.; traffic boundary: The table shows '-' for Traffic, the product summary says Bandwidth UNLIMITED, and current cart JavaScript intentionally renders every inactive bandwidth option as Unlimited. The API retains inactive numeric backend values and the Terms permit tariff-specific traffic-overuse invoices. The directory therefore normalizes the customer-visible product as unmetered but does not invent a threshold, port speed, overage formula or unconditional no-overage guarantee.; network inclusions: Every current base row exposes one included IPv4. New-matrix and Dronten rows expose one included IPv6 subnet; legacy Amsterdam and Dallas rows do not expose that included subnet. Prefix length, public port speed and DDoS capacity are not_found.; billing boundary: Normal monthly USD rows are default, initial and renewal values match, and no setup charge is exposed. Quarterly, semiannual and annual periods exist; some higher plans discount longer terms, so those commitment rows do not outrank the normal monthly price.; tax boundary: The anonymous USD table and cart expose the same totals without a separate tax line or tax-inclusion statement. Tax inclusion and customer-jurisdiction treatment are not_found; published USD totals are preserved without inferring exemption.; location boundary: Physical country and city labels come from the live transactional datacenter fields, not from Hostry's Cyprus contact address or older marketing location claims. Facility address, operator, ownership, zone topology and ASN are not_found.
Operating systems
new matrix six dollar rows: CentOS 9 Stream, Debian 12, Debian 11, FreeBSD 14 ZFS, FreeBSD 13, Ubuntu 22.04, Windows Server 2016 (+$30/month); new matrix ten dollar rows: CentOS 9 Stream, Debian 12, Debian 11, FreeBSD 14 ZFS, FreeBSD 13, Ubuntu 24.04, Ubuntu 22.04, Windows Server 2019 (+$30/month), Windows Server 2016 (+$30/month); new matrix twenty dollar and larger rows: CentOS 9 Stream, Debian 12, Debian 11, FreeBSD 14 ZFS, FreeBSD 13, Ubuntu 24.04, Ubuntu 22.04, Windows Server 2022 (+$30/month), Windows Server 2019 (+$30/month), Windows Server 2016 (+$30/month); dronten rows: CentOS 9 Stream, Debian 12, Debian 11, FreeBSD 14 ZFS, FreeBSD 13, Ubuntu 24.04, Ubuntu 22.04, Windows Server 2022 (+$30/month), Windows Server 2019 (+$30/month), Windows Server 2016 (+$30/month); amsterdam legacy rows: CentOS 8, CentOS 8 Stream, Debian 8 (x64), Debian 9 (x64), Debian 10, Debian 11, FreeBSD 13, Ubuntu 16.04 (x64), Ubuntu 18.04 (x64), Ubuntu 20.04; dallas legacy rows: CentOS 8, Debian 8 (x64), Debian 9 (x64), Debian 10, Debian 11, Ubuntu 16.04 (x64), Ubuntu 18.04 (x64), Ubuntu 20.04; windows boundary: Windows is a selectable paid image, not included in benchmark price. The live API attaches exact monthly add-ons and controls which version appears by size; older generic marketing OS names are not treated as current transactional choices.; custom iso: Customers can upload and boot a custom ISO through VMManager according to the current public help article.; lifecycle boundary: Several legacy images are end-of-life. Their presence in the live selector is recorded as availability, not a security or vendor-support endorsement. Architecture, edition beyond the displayed Windows Server label, activation terms and image patch date are not_found.
Virtualization
hypervisor: KVM; guest access: full Linux root; paid Windows Server images support Windows administration; control plane: Hostry account plus VMManager; current help covers start/stop-assisted custom ISO installation, OS reinstall, SSH keys, SSH access and VNC; provisioning claim: seconds / instant according to current product marketing; no measured percentile or contractual target is published; nested virtualization: not_found; public compute api: not_found
CPU isolation
classification: guaranteed virtual resources; no dedicated physical core claim; provider language: The current VPS service page says 100% Resource Availability and promises customers will always have the resources needed, while attributing allocation to the KVM hypervisor.; material usage restriction: The current Terms classify applications generating constant CPU load over 80% as a violation on non-dedicated servers. Standard-violation handling calls for notice and a reasonable remedy period before restriction or suspension.; qualification: The resource assurance supports the directory's guaranteed classification, not dedicated. The 80% sustained-load restriction materially limits use of the advertised vCPU allocation and is preserved beside the classification.; physical core mapping contention ratio burst policy steal time limit pinning smt mapping or processor model: not_found

Features

  • App installation guest installation: Full root/Administrator access permits customer-managed installation of compatible software.; native cms recipes: Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, Magento, PrestaShop, OpenCart; native recipe scope: The six CMS recipes are present only on all 12 current Amsterdam and Dallas legacy tariffs. The 123 newer-matrix and Dronten tariffs expose empty CMS arrays, and every current VDS tariff exposes an empty software array.; documentation boundary: A live help article demonstrates CMS installation and OS reinstall with optional preinstalled software, but its $5 example is stale. Transactional API arrays control current family-level availability.
  • Templates & images public images: Exact active per-size OS selectors are cataloged under operating_systems.; custom iso: VMManager supports customer ISO upload, attachment, boot-priority selection and installation.; reinstall: VMManager provides an OS/software/password reinstall workflow; the article says the procedure takes about 15–20 minutes.; ssh keys: VMManager accepts customer public SSH keys.; snapshot clone private template image export: not_found; backup boundary: Terms explicitly say automated backup is not provided unless separately contracted as a paid add-on and place off-site backup responsibility on the customer; no current public backup SKU, schedule, retention or restore workflow was found.
  • Network orchestration control plane: Hostry account and VMManager controls expose the assigned IPs, hostname/PTR editing, SSH keys, VNC, reinstall and size upgrades.; included public network: One IPv4 on every current base row; one IPv6 subnet on new-matrix and Dronten rows but not on the Amsterdam/Dallas legacy rows.; reverse dns: The current account client labels the editable hostname as a PTR record and includes PTR-update handling for assigned addresses; validation rules and turnaround are not published.; scaling: Current options and account client support resource/IP increases, but public prices and maxima vary by tariff and are not normalized as included base resources.; vpc private vlan floating ip bgp customer subnet routing multi nic or public network api: not_found
  • Firewall native claim: The current VPS product page says the hosting control panel has a built-in firewall.; native rule model: not_found; scope default state protocol port address priority logging api and limits: not_found; guest option: Full root/Administrator access permits a customer-managed guest firewall.
  • Load balancer
  • DNS management service: Hostry Free DNS is a separate authoritative/backup DNS product usable with domains registered elsewhere.; controls: The current page advertises a user control panel, domain onboarding, adding/changing records, quick updates and worldwide distribution with no stated limit on records or requests.; security: The page advertises DDoS protection and use as a safeguard/backup for other DNS servers.; service boundary: Free DNS is an adjacent account product, not a resource bundled into the benchmark VPS price. Exact supported record types, DNSSEC, API, Anycast topology, query-rate policy and the advertised 400% SLA's measurement/credit formula are not_found.; reverse dns boundary: VPS PTR control is separately described under network_orchestration and is not conflated with authoritative forward DNS.
  • Git integrations
  • Container registry

Support

base vm: Self-managed root/Administrator VPS with provider infrastructure, account and technical-issue support. The services page says staff answer questions, give recommendations and solve technical issues, but no included guest-administration task matrix is published.; backup responsibility: Customer retains responsibility for current off-site backups unless an automated-backup paid add-on is specifically contracted.; availability claim: Current VPS marketing says 99.9% network/hardware/infrastructure uptime and money back on failure, while About uses broader 100% ULTIMATE SLA language. No measurement window, exclusions, request process or credit formula was found, so neither is represented as an enforceable quantified credit schedule.; refund boundary: Terms offer new customers a request window of no more than three days if no policy was breached, with listed exclusions. Other clauses say canceled prepaid service is not refunded except trials, while provider-initiated compliant cancellation may be prorated. The conflict is preserved rather than simplified into a blanket guarantee.

Email

support@hostry.com for general/support contact and abuse@hostry.com for abuse/DSA notices; the public contact form routes Sales or Technical requests by service.

Phone
Ticket system

The current About page links an authenticated ticket path, and the public contact form accepts Sales/Technical VPS requests without sign-in. Entitlement tiers and ticket priorities are not published.

Live chat

The current VPS service page and Terms name live chat as an available contact channel; endpoint uptime and staffing were not independently tested.

Languages: verified public and legal language: English; human agent language matrix: not_found; qualification: Current English product, support and legal surfaces are directly inspectable, and the DSA contact clause expressly accepts English. That does not prove every support channel or shift has English staffing or any additional language coverage. Hours: provider claim: 24/7 customer support and 24/7/365 operation center; response claim: 15 MINUTE TIMES RESPONSE marketing label; qualification: The 15-minute wording does not identify channel, severity, measurement method, percentile, business-hours boundary or remedy and is not treated as a contractual first-response SLA.

What customers say

4.50 (28) WHTop: 4.5/5 · 28
Recurring praise
  • + Positive WHTop posts repeatedly praise VPS or site speed, support helpfulness, pricing, uptime and location choice; the platform reports 25 recommended and three opposed ratings.
  • + Some posts specifically describe VPS use, but the aggregate also mixes web hosting, CDN, site-builder and dedicated-server experiences and is not a controlled current-VPS-only sample.
Recurring complaints
  • The three one-star WHTop posts allege slow servers, delayed or nonresponsive support, blocked funds/refund difficulty and VPS suspension after an abuse accusation. These are customer allegations, not independently verified incidents.
  • Several near-duplicate anonymous positive posts share the same 29 January 2024 date, and the page includes reviews of retired locations or old plans. HostAdvice reports 3.95/5 from four in its aggregate but embeds only three reviews; Cryptwerk reports 5.0/5 from 12 while its own list contains a one-star review and text also present on WHTop. Those internally inconsistent or overlapping aggregates are documented but excluded from the score to avoid false precision and obvious double counting.
