Solar Hosting
Legal entity: registered name: SOLAR HOSTING; trading name: Solar Hosting; siren: 940952039; siret: 94095203900011; rna: W691110526; legal form: French declared association under the Law of 1 July 1901; tax boundary: The current sales terms identify Solar Hosting as a nonprofit association not subject to commercial taxes or VAT. Public product prices are therefore described as the final net amount, despite an inconsistent homepage FAQ that still mentions excluding/applying VAT.

- name: VPS Cloud / fixed Intel Xeon plans; category: currently_orderable_self_managed_full_root_linux_or_windows_kvm_virtual_machine; availability: Eight fixed monthly product pages each expose a live Commander maintenant link into the account/order portal and currently publish schema.org InStock availability through 19 June 2027. Account creation is available publicly; checkout requires an account, as the current terms require.; current plan matrix: tier: VPS 04G; sku: vps-xeon-04g; vcpu: 2; memory gib: 4; storage gb: 50; storage: local SSD; network mbps: 1000; transfer: unmetered; monthly eur: 7.4; stock: in_stock, tier: VPS 08G; sku: vps-xeon-08g; vcpu: 4; memory gib: 8; storage gb: 70; storage: local SSD; network mbps: 1000; transfer: unmetered; monthly eur: 12.4; stock: in_stock, tier: VPS 12G; sku: vps-xeon-12g; vcpu: 5; memory gib: 12; storage gb: 80; storage: local SSD; network mbps: 1000; transfer: unmetered; monthly eur: 15.9; stock: in_stock, tier: VPS 16G; sku: vps-xeon-16g; vcpu: 6; memory gib: 16; storage gb: 100; storage: local SSD; network mbps: 1000; transfer: unmetered; monthly eur: 19.7; stock: in_stock, tier: VPS 24G; sku: vps-xeon-24g; vcpu: 7; memory gib: 24; storage gb: 125; storage: local SSD; network mbps: 1000; transfer: unmetered; monthly eur: 25.65; stock: in_stock, tier: VPS 32G; sku: vps-xeon-32g; vcpu: 8; memory gib: 32; storage gb: 150; storage: local SSD; network mbps: 1000; transfer: unmetered; monthly eur: 31.6; stock: in_stock, tier: VPS 48G; sku: vps-xeon-48g; vcpu: 12; memory gib: 48; storage gb: 250; storage: local SSD; network mbps: 1000; transfer: unmetered; monthly eur: 47.4; stock: in_stock, tier: VPS 64G; sku: vps-xeon-64g; vcpu: 16; memory gib: 64; storage gb: 400; storage: local SSD; network mbps: 1000; transfer: unmetered; monthly eur: 64.7; stock: in_stock; common specification: KVM, Intel Xeon E5-2697A v4 labels, full Linux root SSH, noVNC, one IPv4 plus IPv6, Netrix Standard DDoS filtering, manual snapshots, 12 operating-system choices, custom ISO, panel firewall, monitoring and scaling are marketed across the range. The product overview consistently says 1 Gbit/s and unmetered traffic; individual plan descriptions contain a likely unit typo of 1 GB/s, which is not converted into an 8-Gbit/s entitlement.; billing boundary: The fixed plan pages show ordinary month-to-month final prices and no introductory discount. The current sales terms allow monthly or multiannual billing but publish no fixed-plan commitment discount or setup fee. A separate explicit zero-setup-fee promise was not found., name: VPS custom configurator; category: current_configurable_kvm_vps_with_authentication_gated_server_quote; availability: The public configurator exposes valid resource selectors and a Commander link to the authenticated client portal. The portal code validates the resource tuple, obtains an authoritative quote from /payments/vps-custom-quote, creates a Stripe payment intent and provisions through a post-payment workflow.; configuration ranges: vcpu: 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 16, 24; memory gib: 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256; storage gb: 40, 80, 160, 320, 640, 1000, 2000, 4000; ipv4 count: 1, 2, 4, 8; backup retention weeks: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4; pricing conflict: The homepage advertises from EUR 3.99. The configurator's server-rendered default says EUR 5.99, but its live browser script immediately recalculates the selected 2-vCPU/4-GiB/80-GB/one-IPv4 default to EUR 8.30 and implies EUR 4.90 for the minimum selectable shape. The portal deliberately ignores the submitted URL price and re-quotes server-side after authentication, so none of EUR 3.99, EUR 4.90, EUR 5.99 or EUR 8.30 is used as the directory benchmark. The lowest internally consistent public fixed in-stock tuple is used instead.; fulfilment boundary: The public sales terms say custom configurations activate within an indicative ten minutes, the VPS FAQ says up to five minutes, and the authenticated-order client copy describes a human-notified provisioning workflow with access within an hour. These conflicting targets are retained and no guaranteed custom delivery time is inferred.
- Operating systems
- current catalog: Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, Debian 12, Debian 11, AlmaLinux 9, Rocky Linux 9, Arch Linux, Fedora 40, CentOS Stream 9, Windows Server 2022, Windows Server 2019, FreeBSD 14, Custom ISO; windows license: The current configurator says Windows Server has no surcharge and includes a Datacenter license. No activation method, license mobility term or edition/build detail is published.; custom iso: A customer ISO can be mounted through the KVM/noVNC panel after delivery.; reinstallation: One-click reinstall is advertised from the client area and destroys the prior system data; snapshotting first is recommended.; catalog quality boundary: Version labels are recorded exactly as currently served. Fedora 40 and Debian 11 are comparatively old labels, and the directory does not infer lifecycle support, patch freshness or image provenance from their presence.
- Virtualization
- hypervisor: Full KVM hardware virtualization; guest control: Linux VPS are delivered with full root SSH and the customer controls the operating system and application stack. Windows Server is selectable, and noVNC remains available when guest networking is unavailable.; control plane: The current VPS pages advertise noVNC, one-click OS reinstall, cloud-init, manual snapshots and reusable golden images, panel firewall rules, CPU/RAM/I/O/network graphs, email alerts and resource upgrades effective after restart.; deployment: The current contract calls standard VPS activation immediate with an indicative 60-second target. Public product copy also says under 60 seconds; custom-deployment targets conflict between five minutes, ten minutes and authenticated client copy promising access within an hour.; storage: The fixed range uses SSD local to the virtualization node. No fixed-plan RAID topology, durability guarantee or migration behavior is published.; backup boundary: Manual snapshots are included. Optional daily provider backups retain one to four weeks in a French datacenter; the contract still makes the customer responsible for independent off-site copies and limits provider liability for loss.; public infrastructure api: not_found; portal boundary: The client application has private service, payment and provisioning APIs, but no current public customer infrastructure API documentation, authentication scheme, quota or automation guarantee was found. An invoice-via-API homepage FAQ does not establish a VPS lifecycle API.
- CPU isolation
- benchmark classification: guaranteed; basis: Current VPS product copy promises purchased vCPU are reserved and guaranteed during peak use without delayed throttling or hidden oversubscription. The provider's current homepage simultaneously explains that a VPS shares a physical KVM host and that the physical CPU is mutualized. Because no exclusive physical-core, SMT-thread or pinning definition is published, the benchmark is guaranteed rather than dedicated.; advertised host cpu: Intel Xeon E5-2697A v4 on the fixed plan labels; no per-node topology, base/turbo entitlement or host-assignment guarantee is published; physical host exclusivity: not_applicable_to_vps; the physical server and physical CPU are explicitly shared; physical core mapping: not_found; hardware thread or smt mapping: not_found; pinning or numa policy: not_found; numeric oversubscription ratio: not_found; sustained use policy: The product promises guaranteed vCPU without post-burst throttling. The acceptable-use terms prohibit compromising shared infrastructure but publish no numeric CPU fair-use threshold, burst window, throttle rate or enforcement ladder.
Features
- App installation guest managed: Full root permits arbitrary compatible application installation. Current VPS copy explicitly confirms Docker, Podman, LXC, K3s, Kubernetes, MicroK8s and minikube, plus nested virtualization.; native one click application marketplace: not_found; management boundary: The benchmark plan is self-managed: Solar Hosting manages physical hardware and resource allocation while the customer manages the guest stack. Separate App Hosting and occasional paid administration are not treated as included VPS application management.✓
- Templates & images provider images: Twelve named Linux, BSD and Windows images are currently advertised.; cloud init: The Linux page advertises startup cloud-init scripts through a metadata API.; custom iso: Customer ISO mounting through KVM/noVNC is supported.; reinstall: One-click OS reinstallation is advertised.; snapshots and images: Manual snapshots are included and the Linux page advertises keeping a golden image for redeployment.; automatic backup: Optional daily snapshots can retain one to four weeks in France; no-backup selection still includes manual snapshots.✓
- Network orchestration addressing: The fixed VPS range advertises one dedicated IPv4 plus IPv6. The custom configurator exposes one, two, four or eight IPv4 addresses and says unlimited IPv6 is included.; network rate: The overview advertises a dedicated, non-mutualized 1-Gbit/s server connection. Individual fixed-plan descriptions mistakenly write 1 GB/s; this directory retains the explicit 1-Gbit/s overview value.; transfer: Traffic is advertised as unlimited. No traffic-direction accounting, numerical fair-use allowance or overage schedule is published.; scaling: vCPU, RAM, SSD and IP upgrades are advertised in the portal, with compute/storage changes available after restart and pricing adjusted prorata.; missing controls: No public private network/VPC, VLAN, floating IP, reverse-DNS workflow, BGP/BYOIP, load-balanced address, route-table control or public infrastructure API was verified.✓
- Firewall native control: The VPS page explicitly advertises configurable inbound and outbound rules from the panel without opening a support ticket.; guest managed: Customers can alternatively configure iptables/nftables; the Linux first-start guide demonstrates UFW/firewalld hardening.; ddos protection: Netrix Standard upstream filtering is included and active by default across VPS plans. The contract does not guarantee immunity from attacks beyond the included mitigation capacity.✓

Support
base scope: The benchmark VPS is self-managed. Solar Hosting manages the host hardware, KVM allocation and network; the customer administers the guest OS, security, applications and independent backups. Occasional paid sysadmin work and unspecified premium managed VPS contracts are separate.; availability sla: The current CGU/SLA promise 99.95% monthly availability measured by network ICMP. A covered outage must exceed five consecutive minutes. Planned maintenance announced seven days ahead, customer-caused incidents, force majeure, large targeted attacks and upstream Tier-1 failures are excluded.; sla credits: Credits are automatic on the next invoice: 5% for 0.05–0.5% monthly downtime, 15% for 0.5–2%, 30% for 2–5%, and 50% above 5%, capped at 100% of the affected service's monthly cost.; billing: Monthly is the default and services can be cancelled for period end. Current prices are final net amounts because the association says it does not charge VAT. Card/Stripe and PayPal are accepted; SEPA is listed for annual subscriptions and bank transfer for orders above EUR 500 on request.; withdrawal and refund: Immediate hosting execution waives the statutory 14-day withdrawal right under the cited consumer-law exception. Solar Hosting separately offers a voluntary 14-day refund on the first invoice only, excluding renewals, upgrades and options, if requested in writing before expiry.; suspension and deletion: The sales terms say nonpayment leads to suspension within 48 hours and termination/deletion after another 30 days. The use terms say cancelled-service data is retained 30 days for requested return, then deleted.; backup: Daily provider backups are optional at one-to-four-week retention. The customer remains responsible for off-site copies, and the provider limits liability for force-majeure or customer-side loss.; status boundary: The live Better Stack page reports all services operational and groups Site/API, Webs, Games, Datacenters and Transits. It does not expose a separately named VPS monitor, so status history is not treated as a plan-specific uptime measurement.
contact@solarhosting.fr is published for commercial/general requests with a stated maximum 24-business-hour response. support@solarhosting.fr is published for service and account support.
Authenticated customers can open tracked tickets in the client portal. Current contact copy says replies are delivered by email, critical updates by SMS and P1 incidents escalate automatically.
A public Discord community provides live support discussion and private tickets. The provider advertises an average response under 30 minutes during business hours; Discord is not a contractual private enterprise-chat entitlement.
What customers say
- + Accessible narratives repeatedly praise fast, specific and helpful support, including help beyond strictly provider-caused problems.
- + Reviewers also praise low prices, VPS speed/bandwidth and network performance; one explicitly describes a Node.js Discord-bot server order.
- − No critical narrative is exposed by the current profile. The evidence base is nevertheless very small and stale: Trustpilot reports nine total reviews, zero in the previous 12 months, and the visible narratives are spontaneous rather than verified invitations.
- − The aggregate spans the provider's earlier service history and is not specific to the current VPS 04G hardware, undisclosed datacenter, present association terms or measured SLA.
