HostUp describes a clustered compute layer, live migration for maintenance, restart on another compute node after failure and two availability zones in Älvsjö. The current landing page also retains older RAID-10 wording; the newer product header, terms and availability material specifically describe Ceph replication-3.; billing boundary: The directory benchmarks the selectable month-to-month catalog, not the 20%-lower annual effective prices. The order cart labels EUR as ex. VAT, and the Terms say advertised prices exclude 25% VAT and invoices settle in SEK., name: Managed VPS; category: managed_full_root_fixed_monthly_kvm_virtual_machine; service model: A separately sold managed layer on VPS MED, LG or XL. HostUp provisions CloudLinux OS, cPanel/WHM and Imunify360, performs the initial optimization and proactive security setup, monitors the server, assists with migrations and server-level troubleshooting, and leaves full root access with the customer.; plans: name: Managed MED; monthly eur ex vat: 64.9; vcpu: 4; memory gib: 16; storage gb: 200; transfer tb: 10; cpanel accounts: 5, name: Managed LG; monthly eur ex vat: 79.9; vcpu: 8; memory gib: 32; storage gb: 400; transfer tb: 20; cpanel accounts: 5, name: Managed XL; monthly eur ex vat: 109.9; vcpu: 16; memory gib: 64; storage gb: 800; transfer tb: 32; cpanel accounts: 5; management boundary: The customer remains responsible for ongoing OS and cPanel updates, although HostUp offers guidance and automation advice. Every plan includes a dedicated IPv4, daily automatic backups and enhanced assistance. No long-term contract is required., name: Cloud VPS / Cloud Account; category: self_managed_full_root_pay_as_you_go_configurable_kvm_virtual_machine; service model: An API- and portal-created Cloud VPS whose CPU and RAM bill hourly, storage bills per GiB-hour, IPv4 bills hourly and bandwidth bills per used GiB. It supports in-place CPU/RAM resize, account quotas, private networks, block volumes, placement groups and conversion from a fixed-cycle VPS.; orderability boundary: Current deployment is account-gated by country/payment availability, identity or trust checks, card presence and a cloud-access action gate. The authenticated deployment-options response supplies the live prices, allowed Stockholm region and current min/max resources before deployment.; benchmark boundary: The public API schema contains illustrative response values rather than an anonymous live rate response, and the current product page says unit prices are displayed before deployment. No numeric Cloud VPS benchmark is therefore invented; the fixed and managed products remain the reproducible ranked catalog.
Operating systems
current published templates: AlmaLinux 8, AlmaLinux 9, AlmaLinux 10, CentOS 7, CentOS 8, Debian 11, Debian 12, Debian 13, Fedora 37, Fedora 38, Fedora 39, Ubuntu 18.04, Ubuntu 20.04, Ubuntu 22.04, Ubuntu 24.04, openSUSE Leap 15, Oracle Linux 8, Oracle Linux 9, Arch Linux, Rocky Linux 8, Rocky Linux 9, Rocky Linux 10, CloudLinux OS 9; lifecycle boundary: This reproduces HostUp's live template list, including releases that may be end-of-life; listing is not an endorsement of upstream security support.; custom media: Customer ISO upload or download-from-URL is supported, including boot-order control and full-disk-encryption use cases.; windows: The current support index documents reinstalling Windows Server and connecting with Remote Desktop, but a provider-included Windows license or exact image/version catalog is not published. It is therefore treated as customer-media capability, not a bundled licensed offer.; managed default: Managed VPS is provisioned with CloudLinux OS, cPanel/WHM and Imunify360.
Virtualization
hypervisor: KVM; guest model: Full virtual machine with root access, customer-controlled kernel, clean-image rebuild, custom ISO, configurable BIOS/UEFI firmware and HTTPS/VNC console.; storage platform: Ceph with triple replication; automatic recovery copies are produced through Proxmox Backup Server.; nested virtualization: not_found
CPU isolation
directory classification: shared; applies to: All standard, managed and PAYG Cloud VPS offers unless a customer obtains a separately negotiated contract stating otherwise.; provider marketing: The current English page says CPU, RAM and storage are dedicated; the current Swedish page narrows its CPU statement to VPS LG and larger.; binding usage boundary: The AUP explicitly places VPS CPU under fair use: brief 100% bursts are allowed, but sustained 100% use for days or weeks is automatically limited to about 50% to protect fair use. RAM and storage are called dedicated. Under the directory methodology, a contention/fair-use CPU pool is shared rather than guaranteed or dedicated physical-core allocation.; processor disclosure: HostUp promises high-performance server processors but does not bind a model or clock to a plan. Independently purchased VPSBenchmarks instances have recently exposed AMD EPYC 7R13, generic EPYC Milan and Intel Xeon Platinum 8260, which are observations rather than plan guarantees.

Features

  • App installation standard vps: Root-level manual installation after a provider OS-template build or customer-ISO installation; HostUp also offers migration assistance and says it can help install a control panel.; managed vps: Turnkey CloudLinux OS, cPanel/WHM and Imunify360, initial optimization, firewall/security configuration and migration assistance.; marketplace boundary: No current one-click application marketplace for the root VM catalog was found; the verified automated images are operating-system templates.
  • Templates & images os and rebuild: Account-specific OS-template listing and destructive clean rebuild through the panel/API, plus customer ISO download, mount, unmount and boot-order controls.; snapshots: Manual snapshots and scheduled snapshot creation/restoration are exposed by the current API.; backups: The product page advertises seven included backups. A schedule is created with a new VPS; the panel/API supports manual backups, schedules, restore to the same VPS, restore from another VPS and restore to a new PAYG Cloud VM.; retention boundary: The Terms call the free Proxmox Backup Server copies short-term snapshots, continually pruned and unsuitable as long-term archives. Customers remain responsible for independent external backups.
  • Network orchestration public addresses: A fixed public IPv4 is part of the VM service; managed plans explicitly say dedicated IPv4. Additional IPv4 is availability-dependent and priced in the portal. Floating/reserved IPs can move between servers.; ipv6: A routed /48 IPv6 subnet is included by default.; private networking: Private VLANs for inter-VM traffic plus PAYG Cloud VPS private networks with region, parent CIDR, /24 subnets, VLAN tags, gateways and attached-VM state.; placement groups: Anti-affinity placement groups keep selected VMs off the same physical machine.; reverse dns: The portal/API can set PTR records for both IPv4 and IPv6.; traffic: Standard plans meter combined ingress and egress against 2–32 TB monthly quotas. At 80% HostUp sends a notice; exhaustion suspends the VM until more transfer is bought. The current support page prices extra transfer at SEK 10 per TB. PAYG Cloud accounts instead charge per used GB.; connectivity: HostUp advertises 25 Gbit/s infrastructure connectivity, owned RIPE address space and fixed addresses; no per-VM guaranteed line rate is published.; ddos: Included self-activated network-layer L3/L4 and SYN-flood scrubbing. Heavier volumetric/UDP protection may require a paid arrangement.; mail: Outbound port 25 is blocked by default. The included MailChannels relay permits up to 10,000 messages per month; an unblock can be requested but is not guaranteed.; automation: Web control panel, API keys with scopes and the same public API used by HostUp's own interface; current documentation exposes more than 300 endpoints.
  • Firewall type: External provider/control-plane firewall independent of guest-OS rules.; default behavior: All traffic is permitted and no ports are blocked until rules are configured.; rules: The current API lists, creates, replaces and deletes per-VPS inbound rules, with protocol, source CIDR and source/destination-port controls. The product page also advertises reusable firewall groups, templates and multi-server attachment.; automation: Panel, public API and the web/Telegram AI assistant can manage firewall state.
  • Load balancer
  • DNS management authoritative dns: DNS zones and records are managed in the same portal/API as domains and VPS. The AI assistant can make approved DNS changes.; record types: A, AAAA, CNAME, ALIAS, MX, TXT, NS, SRV, CAA, TLSA; controls: Create, read, update, delete and proxy-toggle record operations; up to 200 customer-managed records per zone; domain DNS history, diagnostics, snapshots, bulk operations and automatic or manual DNSSEC controls.; reverse dns: PTR is managed through the VPS network workflow for IPv4 and IPv6 rather than as a forward-zone record.
  • Git integrations
  • Container registry

Support

standard vps: Self-managed guest: HostUp operates the physical, storage, network and VM control planes; the customer controls and secures the OS, applications and data. HostUp offers migration help, documentation and infrastructure assistance but does not promise general guest administration.; managed vps: Initial turnkey CloudLinux/cPanel/Imunify360 build, proactive security setup, monitoring, migrations and hands-on server troubleshooting. The customer still owns ongoing OS/cPanel updates and all root-level changes.; availability: The product page markets a 99.9% uptime guarantee and publishes live status history. The binding Terms only promise best efforts, provide the service as-is/as-available, disclaim uninterrupted operation and downtime loss, and publish no uptime-credit schedule; 99.9% is therefore not represented as a compensable SLA.; backups: Free short-term automatic recovery snapshots are supplied, but retention is continually pruned and HostUp disclaims responsibility for loss. Independent customer backups remain mandatory for critical data.; withdrawal and refunds: The Terms provide a 14-day withdrawal period for VPS/shared hosting to EU customers and two days outside the EU; domain registrations/renewals and the VPS cPanel add-on are excluded. Breach termination carries no refund. Current customer-review responses also say renewals are non-refundable, but no broader legal refund promise is inferred.; renewal and nonpayment: Subscriptions recur until actively cancelled. Card, Apple Pay and Google Pay authorize periodic charges; unpaid VPS service is permanently deleted 15 days after invoice due date.

Email

address: support@hostup.se; scope: Public questions and new-customer contact; existing customers are directed to the authenticated support portal.

Phone
Ticket system

access: Authenticated customer support portal, with documented public API operations to create, list, reply to, close and reopen tickets.; hours: Current marketing says technical support operates 24/7.; response metric: The current affiliate page reports an average ticket response under 30 minutes. This is a marketing average, not a binding maximum or SLA credit.

Live chat

human chat: Current VPS support pages invite customers to chat with the support team, and the managed product exposes a Live Chat contact route.; ai channel: A separate AI assistant works on the web or Telegram and, with approval, can inspect and change DNS, backups, firewall state and other account configuration.; hours boundary: The main site markets human help and the AI agent around the clock; no channel-specific contractual response limit is published.

Languages: verified public localizations: Swedish, English; human agent language commitment: not_found; boundary: Parallel Swedish and English product, company, policy, support and contact interfaces verify localized self-service content, not a contractual promise of native-language staffing at every hour. Hours: marketing availability: 24/7 technical/human support; ticket metric: Average response under 30 minutes according to the current affiliate page; contractual boundary: No binding first-response maximum, resolution target or support-credit schedule was found. A November 2024 announcement restricted its then-new 24/7 promise to web hosting; the current 2026 home and affiliate pages use broader technical-support language, so current marketing is recorded with the non-contractual boundary.
